All Final Products from Raster Image Painting
I know most of these have been posted before, but I decided to delete all the previous posts and create one final
Raster Image Painting post. This post includes all individual images along with every animation. Unfortunately,
due to the nature of animated .gif files, no audio is included. This should not detract too much from the animations.
Should one of the animations you want to see is no longer moving, be sure to refresh your browser.

Exercise #1
In your sketchbook, draw 6 different items. Scan them in and add color using different drawing materials in
Corel Painter IX.5. Also, take a digital photograph of yourself and turn it into a digital watercolor image removed
from being photographic material.

6 Different Items

Mushroom (Charcoal) & Waterbucket (Colored Pencil)

Television (Crayon) & Tent (Gouache)

iPod (Pencil) & Strawberry (Scratchboard)

Digital Photographs

Original Photograph & Digital Watercolorization

The Lorax (For Fun)

Exercise #2
Create a 10 or more frame animation using a sketch as the background, a digital image of a place you would
like to visit, and a digital photograph of yourself. Create 6 images using effects that can be found within Corel
Painter IX.5

The Animations

Captain Destructive (118 Frames) & Couch Bounce (23 Frames)

The Images
Contour & Gesure Sketches

Distress & Silksreen Effects

Woodcut & Serigraphy Effects

Exercise 3
Create two animations, the first covers timelapse. Show the progression of movement with two objects separated by a transition.
The second is a movie which has been removed from photographic information.

Eraser - Transition - Cactus

Original Movie - Movie Removed From Photographic Material

Exercise 4
Create a color wheel bassed on additive color (Red, Green Blue)
I also did a Red Yellow Blue Color Wheel. On both color wheels, show ten steps from white to color and ten steps from gray to color.
Animate the RGB Color Wheel.

Additive Color Wheel (RGB) - RGB Animation - Subtractive Color Wheel (RYB)

Exercise 5
Image hose - basically turns your drawing tool into an image paster, which creates many copies if your selected image.
Take a photograph, copy different elements out of it and then use that element over sketches we made to create a different
image. Then create an animation using these elements...If you can't tell what it is, which I am sure you can't, I will label it.

This is a demonstration I did for fun on the image hose. "Attack of the Spectre"

This is the photograph I copied elements out of for Exercises 5 & 6, along with my colored landscape, which I did for fun.

Valley Leading Out To The Ccean - A Rocky Coastline

The Four Mountains & The "Avalanche" Animation

Exercise 6
Very similar to exercise 5, basically had to take a photograph, copy different elements out of it and then use that element over sketches we made to create a different
image. I think that's what I did...but we also had to display an illusion of depth.

Small Mountain Range - Repetitive Natural Pattern

Trapped in a Cave Looking Up At The Sky - A Mountain Leading to Foothills, Then to Flatland at Twilight

Final Project
Use one of the techniques in these exercises to create a final project.
I based mine on Exercise 2 (Captain Destructive) This animation is called Kung Fu.
