A dude I play World of Warcraft with told this story a few times over ventrillo. I had him tell it a 3rd and final time, but this time I actually recorded it... and then I remixed it to the beat from the video in the previous post. I think its pretty funny, but it seems to be hit or miss with the people I show it to... at any rate, its not meant to be derogatory towards anyone's race or culture - its just a true story that occurred as told by an eye witness - with a sick beat. :)
Note - click the picture/link above and it will take you to the site that is hosting the file. You can stream it from there, download the .mp3, or download it as a ringtone... why you would want to download it as a ringtone, I don't know, but the option is there.

I was helping my girlfriend do a powerpoint for her sociology class and this was in her text book... I had to screenshot it from the .pdf file and upload it... I love when textbook authors try to be real...

My reflection would be short -
"Pedantic authors of college textbooks should leave slang and attempts at demonstrating real life conversations out of their work."

Remember back in high school when teachers made you make brochures about obscure topics one wouldn't normally make a brochure for? Well my brother had one of these asinine projects assigned to him a week or two ago. His topic was Queen Elizabeth I...who the hell makes a brochure about a person? Anyway...he asked for help on it and I agreed to help him blow this pointless project out of the water.
First Part

Second Part

When printed and assembled properly, it folds like a three way brochure would. Needless to say, we got an A and the teacher's request to "utilize the project for examples in future classes"
Dear Teachers,
Plz stop assigning dumb projects.

music: Pink Floyd
About a year or more ago, I had Dan perform his Pink Floyd tribute to Richard Wright who had recently passed away. This was set to be in the second episode of my Controlled Chaos podcast, which I scrapped due to content. This is one of the best things that came out of doing the podcast, and I felt it was a shame no one got the chance to view it. Here it is, more than a year later, for your viewing pleasure. Hope you enjoy.
Youtube made his introduction a little hard to hear.
In the first part he says "This is an imitation of every Pink Floyd song ever done".
In the second part he says "This is Kermit the frog singing Wish You Were Here".

music: Shrouded Day
This afternoon I met up with a friend of mine named Dan who plays guitar, flute, and sings. He has another friend named Ken who is a ninja/guitar player who also showed up. They performed on the street corner with vocals, flute, guitar and nunchakas...yes, you read that right...nunchakas. Stationed in between Spaghetti Works & Vivace in downtown Omaha and I was there to videotape the event. Below are the videos gleaned from today's activities.
An Introduction to the Madness...
"Lets see if we can wake up the people in the next county!"
A "Shrouded Day" original song called "Lost Your Way"
A cover of America's "Horse With No Name"
Flute & Guitar harmonizing..wait..what?
This is a decent song, but it is very slow.

Update Your Blog Regularly...

music: Nine Inch Nails
Wow I've been neglecting my blog for far too long...I suppose it is time to post an update and make that age old promise of "updating more often" so here I am saying...sorry for the recent lack of updates...and I'm back!
My cousin Adam was in a freak wakeboarding accident (I've had to ensure that I call it WAKEboarding and not WATERboarding in the "wake" (pardon the pun) of the recent ethical topic of waterboarding as it relates to times of war and terrorism...) and he broke his femur basically in two.
As many of you may recall from your 8th grade anatomy unit, the femur doesn't just break. It is the strongest bone in your body, stronger than concrete! Adam somehow managed to twist his femur just enough that the stress of being lifted out of the water combined with the twisting torque caused what I have dubbed "immaculate pain" in the form of bone severation.
I created a card for Adam with my trusty Macbook Pro and Photoshop CS4. I have uploaded it for all the denizens of the blogosphere to enjoy.

Adam is doing much better now...even managed to drive to my house from his apartment!
***note***
Above, I used parentheses within parentheses - to those who know the reference - (In Parentheses)

Hey everyone...its been nearly a month since my last post...I had a major video project I was working on and then ended up with Pneumonia. Sorry for the absence. I came across this the other day, and I think it might be the most epic thing I've ever seen.
Mike Patton is the lead singer...he also lead Faith No More, but I think this is probably the coolest thing he's ever done.
Notice he creates the effect at the beginning by wearing a gas mask...later creates distortion by exerting air as he sings in the mic and also creates an echo/reverb effect by using two mics with different compressions. Epic and genius. Hope you enjoy.

Safari 4.0 Beta

music: NIN

This is, in my opinion, the coolest thing about the new Safari BETA aside from the speed increase. I have all my most frequented sites arranged on one page as a thumbnail thanks to the feature called "top sites."
The way it works currently is to monitor which sites you use most frequently and then populate thumbnails of those sites on the top sites tab. I don't like this as it is since I am all about customization so I developed a workaround.
Clear all the sites from your top site tab and then go to the site you want to add and switch back to the top sites tab. Repeat this two or three times until the site gets added. At this point you can click the edit button in the bottom left corner and "pin" it so it won't ever move or get replaced.
As a side note - I made this post through firefox, I hope someone makes a mac compatible firefox addon that does this because I really like firefox better than Safari.
